Gas cylinder pipes are high-pressure seamless steel tubes specially manufactured for the shell of steel gas cylinders, complying with GB/T 18248, ISO 9809 and other international standards. Featuring uniform wall thickness, high dimensional accuracy, excellent tightness and mechanical properties, they can be processed into pressure-bearing gas cylinders via closing, stamping and heat treatment. They are vital safety components for gas storage and transportation. According to application purposes, they are mainly divided into pipeline for civil gas cylinders and pipeline for industrial gas cylinders, which differ greatly in material, pressure rating, testing standards and working conditions.

Working Pressure | Low&medium pressure,nominal working pressure≤10 MPa | Medium,high &ultra-high pressure,working pressure ranges from 10 MPa to 30 MPa and above |
Main Materials | Ordinary carbon steel,cost-effective | High-quality carbon-manganese steel,alloy steel (35CrMo,34CrMo4,etc.)with higher strength and toughness |
Structure &Wall Thickness | Thin wall,lightweight design for easy handling | Thick wall,superior structural strength,impact resistance and fatigue resistance |
Testing Requirements | Basic tests on mechanical properties,hydrostatic pressure and appearance | Full non-destructive testing,impact test and strict metallographic inspection; some require resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion |
Applicable Media | Liquefied petroleum gas and other conventional low-pressure civil gases | Oxygen,nitrogen,hydrogen,acetylene,special industrial gases and corrosive gases |
Service Environment | Indoor residential buildings and common commercial areas with mild conditions | Factories,outdoor sites,vehicles and laboratories with complex working conditions |
1-Sealed Storage of High-pressure Gas
Acting as the main shell of gas cylinders, the dense tube wall ensures long-term sealed storage of compressed and liquefied gases and prevents leakage.
2-Pressure Bearing & Deformation Resistance
Withstand internal gas pressure, external impact and vibration. The tubes remain intact without bulging, deformation or rupture during repeated gas charging and discharging cycles.
3-Good Processability
Great ductility enables deep processing such as bottom closing and necking to meet integral forming requirements of gas cylinders.
4-Medium Protection
Industrial grades resist corrosive media, low and high temperatures; civil grades focus on daily rust prevention for household use
1-Civil Gas Cylinder Pipes
1.1 Mainly for low-pressure gas storage in residential and general commercial areas:
1.2 LPG cylinders for families and civil gas turnover;
1.3 Liquefied gas tanks for restaurants, canteens and small shops;
1.4 Portable gas cylinders for domestic heating and cooking equipment.
2-Industrial Gas Cylinder Pipes
2.1 Widely used for industrial gases, special gases, vehicles and medical services
under harsh conditions:
2.2 Machinery manufacturing: Oxygen cylinders, acetylene cylinders and argon
cylinders for welding and cutting;
2.3 Chemical & energy industry: High-pressure cylinders for chemical raw gas, high
purity gas and hydrogen;
2.4 Medical service: Medical oxygen cylinders and nitrous oxide cylinders for
hospitals and clinics;
2.5 Transportation: On-board CNG cylinders and hydrogen storage cylinders for
new energy vehicles;
2.6 Scientific research & fire protection: Special gas cylinders for laboratories, fire
extinguishing cylinders and emergency cylinders for mines
